Our Structure

Where Care Meets Opportunity for Every Child

Building Brighter Futures for Orphans and Vulnerable Children.

Established on 22nd October 2012, BASOVCA was created to coordinate and implement policies and programs that support Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) across Bauchi State. The agency operates under the direct supervision of the Executive Governor, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective service delivery.
To provide equitable, high-quality, and sustainable care services through social protection and support frameworks.
To ensure sustainable access to basic social services in health, food, education, and social justice for Orphans and Vulnerable Children.

BASOVCA operates across seven key areas:

Our Thematic Areas of Intervention

Education

We promote access to quality education by supporting enrolment, retention, and completion for orphans and vulnerable children, while also providing learning materials and vocational skills training.

Health

We ensure that children and their caregivers receive essential healthcare services through free medical support and the Health Ticket system for treatment in state hospitals.

Food & Nutrition

We improve child well-being through nutritional support, regular food provision, and emergency assistance for vulnerable households to prevent hunger and malnutrition.

Child Protection & Legal Support

We safeguard children’s rights by providing legal assistance, supporting birth registration, and protecting against abuse, exploitation, and neglect.

Shelter & Care

We enhance living conditions by providing housing support, renovating homes, and supplying essential materials to ensure safe and dignified shelter.

Psychosocial Support

We promote emotional well-being through counseling services, recreational activities, and parenting support programs that help children thrive socially and mentally.

Household Economic Strengthening

We empower caregivers and older children through income-generating opportunities, vocational training, and financial support to build sustainable livelihoods.
